HI Crafty Friends!
I have always wanted my own space to craft. We live in a 4 bedroom home with a finished basement but I never quite felt comfortable in the basement crafting and my crafts were all down there among the kids toys so it was never really my space. It prevented me from crafting and i let it go for many years because i was so busy with working and my kids. Upstairs we had a formal living room that no one used. I eventually put in a nice cherry desk because I was working from home full time for my corporate job and i had to have a private quiet space. Slowly but surely i started to add my IKEA until in there against a wall but it was so tight. I then decided to get rid of the gorgeous red chair and a gorgeous yellow sofa and we moved then to other parts of our home. I also decided I wanted a more crisp space and then sold my cherry desk and converted the entire room to a studio office space. I also was having neck issues with tension and sitting all day so I went looking for a stand up desk and went on Pinterest for ideas as well. I eventually ordered a craft stand up desk which i Love but it is Huge and Heavy! I added more cabinets as well and also condensed my supplies a bit as well (I had 3 cricuts!) so I could see everything and also make use of it all. I donated or sold some things and i am still working on it but this is what it looks like today (April 2019). Over the next month it will be further transformed as we get the rugs replaced with hardwood that matches the rest of the first floor in our home.
I still work my corporate job on the sit down desks but i spend my crafting time at the stand up desk as I like to stand to stamp and scrapbook. Once the hardwood floors get in we will paint the room, add some ceiling lighting and I will put a nice chair in there as well if i can remove one of the cabinets.
Please stay tuned and check back often to see the next update.
