HAPPY SEPTEMBER!
Kids are back at school and it is time to get back to doing things to feed the soul! for me that is crafting, namely paper crafting but I love all crafts! I have spent the summer hanging out with my kids while holding down the summer fort with my normal full time job working. I don’t know about you but I need to feed my creative soul and get back on track to doing what I love and am passionate about in between all the chaos of the corporate world. That’s where you all come in! I am looking for local friends and global friends to craft with, get inspiration from and give inspiration to. I want to build a community where people come together for the shear joy of crafting! whether you are a paper crafter, painter, sewer, crochet queen, wreath maker or anything in between! I find inspiration from others I craft with and other crafters I follow on social media and beyond so why not build a community where we can all share our creations and possibly learn a thing or two? Do you ever walk into a Michael’s , or Joann’s or AC. Moore (Local here in PA, NJ, DE) and think, WOW I wish I could sew and make a quilt or look at that wreath–it’s gorgeous! Everywhere you look you see creations. Well, there are limiting factors for many so we tend to say “I don’t have the time, or I don’t have the space or the equipment needed but I will buy something from that wreath maker, card maker, sewing queen! or heck I do want to learn this craft so I am going to take one of the classes offered by that person, buy some product and find time for me, doing something that is relaxing, fun and something for others to enjoy as well. Supporting other people in the craft industry is a wonderful way to show appreciation for the love, thought and time they put into their creation that they sold you and opens doors to the possibilities that you too can be creative even if you are all thumbs (Which I do not believe for a minute!) and don’t think you have a creative bone in your body. I hope you join in the fun by signing up on this blog, going over to my Facebook, Instagram and You tube (I need to get my video series going!) to stay informed and maybe even learn a new craft or join me in my paper crafting world! I am always looking for friends to join in the fun and enjoy this journey. I will have Bi-weekly get together’s on Friday nights at my home with papercrafting and sign making crafts as the focal point but you can also bring your own papercrafting items to craft! I am a stampin up! demonstrator so I can order items for you in advance if you need it or if you have supplies that is perfect too.
I am ALSO planning a quarterly Creative Escape Weekend on all things Paper crafting and Home decor signage! The escape will include overnight accommodations at a local hotel in the Collegeville area with lots of shopping around, a Michael’s crafts is across the way in the shopping center, continental breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as you can explore on your own and go to one of the largest malls on the East coast, King of Prussia Mall! Crafting will beginning at 9am but you can come and go as you please (except for product based classes which will be scheduled). Anyone is welcome and they do not have to stay overnight if they are local. You will have a designated table as well wher eyouc an leave your supplies! Come for the day or both days which is the great thing about this event–it is totally flexible! I will feature product based classes with a fee, food, prizes, hotel accommodations and much more! You will have plenty of time to work on your current projects, sign up for product based classes and meet new friends! Please also know that this is a community event and even if you com alone you will NOT be alone very long. We will pair you with others to enjoy your day and have some ice breakers. For beginners this is a great opportunity to learn as I will have a beginner class and you can purchase the beginner kit in advance to have on hand that day to start a beautiful scrapbook for your home as well as a small frame to display a favorite photo (yes, paper crafting can be used for home decor!) or you can do a card class kit. If you are a demo please come along as well. I welcome all company demos and fellow SU demo’s to come to my crops.
The first retreat will be the end of January or first week in February! I am getting the hotel details this week and will give further details once I secure the venue. I will need a minimum to make this worthwhile so I hope you will join me, invite friends and have fun! I posted some photos so you can see the possibilities but they are not pictures of what we will be doing specifically!
Please feel free to share this info and add your friends to my papercrafting VIP group on Facebook for updates! Share, Share , Share with your friends, neighbors and co-workers! https://www.facebook.com/groups/2845734028793157/
Craftfully Yours,
Maria
